PA: Ponzio Promoted to VP of STV

John Ponzio, director of systems, safety and security in STV's Transportation and Infrastructure Division, has been promoted to vice president

John Ponzio, director of systems, safety and security in STV's Transportation and Infrastructure Division, has been promoted to vice president.

Ponzio, who joined STV in 1999, has more than 15 years of experience as a project manager and systems engineer. He has distinguished himself in the design of rail systems, fare collection and electronic security systems.

He has led a number of important security and transportation projects for STV. He is currently serving as the project manager for the security upgrades for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's three Staten Island bridges.

Ponzio was also a resident engineer for the initial light rail segment of the Charlotte Area Transit System Blue Line and led the design of communications and control systems for Tunney's Pasture to Blair Station for the City of Ottawa Light Rail Transit system. In addition, he has been involved with security-focused assignments for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Amtrak, the Connecticut Department of Transportation and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Ponzio earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering technology from Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and the International Council on Systems Engineering.
