With the foundation of SETBus Ltda, the new subsidiary of Spheros Brazil will be handling the development, industrialization, application and service of all electronics systems in bus bodies for Latin America and Spheros key customers worldwide.
Management Director Jayme Comandulli – for many years manager of Spheros Brazil – will be at the helm, supported by an experienced managerial team and in the long run over 100 employees. The company, whose head office is located in Caxías do Sul, is to be expanded to become world’s biggest supplier of bus body electronics.
In order to achieve this goal, investments in plant and equipment and development services in the double-digit million euro range are planned over the next few years. SETBus will also receive on going direct support from the Spheros electronics competence centre in Germany.
Integrated on-board electronics systems
Customers in the bus building industry demand high quality systems with a high degree of flexibility. In order to ensure this, in addition to a development centre in Caxías, SETBus has an ultra-modern assembly line for bus body electronics. The focus of product development currently lies on the implementation of an electronics system that links these individual systems.
Jayme Comandulli explains the vision of SETBus thus “We want to create a system that permits substantial savings in system costs and weight, at the same time guaranteeing high quality and operator convenience of all individual systems — controlled by means of a single user-friendly display!”
