Spheros to Show Air Conditioning Product Line at NAPT

Oct. 4, 2012
NAPT attendees will see the unveiling of the Arcticsphere portfolio, offering split component systems with either inwall or ceiling mounted evaporators and skirt-mounted condensers in various sizes

Air conditioning specialist, Spheros North America, Inc., is expanding its presence in the North American school and shuttle bus market. During the NAPT show on 23rd and 24th of October, Spheros will present the complete air conditioning product line, specially designed for factory or aftermarket installations.

According to the guiding principal "Providing your climate", Spheros will showcase innovative climate control concepts. The NAPT attendees will see the unveiling of the Arcticsphere portfolio, offering split component systems with either inwall or ceiling mounted evaporators and skirt-mounted condensers in various sizes. In addition, two rooftop systems will be make their premiere in Memphis for the North American market. With the CC145 air conditioning system for smaller vehicles and the CC335/355 for larger school buses Spheros brings to the forefront demonstrate its expertise in the development, manufacture and sale of a broad high-quality range of products. "I am pleased that we will also be able to demonstrate the diversity of our range in the AC sector at NAPT. The international Spheros Group has the right solution for every bus on the market worldwide," explains Heiko Baufeld, CEO of Spheros North America, Inc. Mr. Baufeld has been with the Spheros Group for over 16 years and brings much experience forward to serve the customer with reliable climate control solutions.

Curtains up for Arcticsphere

Spheros engineers developed a complete split air conditioning system specifically for the North American school and shuttle bus market, known as Articsphere. A wide range of vehicle types can now be equipped with a reliable system offering cooling performance of up to 60,000 BTU's per hour with three different inwall evaporators, without sacrificing valuable interior space. Additionally, Spheros also offers two different ceiling-mounted evaporators CE 200 and CE 300, featuring strong airflow and cooling capacity of up to 70,000 BTU's per hour. With their high performance two skirt-mounted SC 220 and SC 230 condensers ensure low system pressure making them the ideal supplement to the high efficient Arcticsphere split system. All split components of the Arcticsphere line use very long-life motors and are built from durable yet lightweight materials to provide long service life without sacrificing performance. The system is particularly easy to operate with the Spheros dashboard mounted control unit, giving control over for three blower speeds and a variable temperature set point.

Trendsetting rooftop units

With its aerodynamic, compact design and a cooling capacity of 42,000 BTU's per hour, the new CC 145 rooftop unit is ideal for Class A school buses or buses in temperate climate zones. The three speed blowers in the CC 145 ensure a pleasant interior climate which the cool air can be distributed through from the evaporator blowers to either a center or side air ducts. Designed for both, a factory installation or aftermarket retrofit in school buses, the CC 145 rooftop unit is quick and easy to install weighting in at only 148 pounds. The larger CC 335/355 roof top units, were specially developed for use in humid, subtropical and desert climates. They will be available as single-loop or dual-loop versions. Their cooling capacity of 120,000 / 136,500 BTU's per hour guarantees a comfortable interior when outside temperatures reach up to 140° F (60°C). The six blowers run silently and enable an air flow rate of 3,700 CFM (6,300 m3/h). Despite this high capacity, the lightweight 340/365 pounds units have comparatively little impact on fuel consumption. All Spheros rooftop units provide performance, easy maintenance and low life-cycle costs.
