Mike Baum Ends 25-Year Career with First Transit

Baum has worked for First Transit in many different roles throughout the company

For 25 years, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Quality Assurance Manager Mike Baum has worked for First Transit in many different roles throughout the company. His career started in the transit industry with ATE Management, which was acquired by First Transit in 1987. Through his time at First Transit, Baum has operated as a General Manager at First Transit locations in Phoenix, Ariz., Yolo County, Calif., and Lorton, Va. He also has worked as the Operations Manager for the Eastern Region and Quality Assurance Manager in Cincinnati, Ohio. Following this recognition, Baum has announced that he will be retiring. He says that what he will miss the most are the people he works with.

"I am very grateful to have been in this industry for so long and to have worked with some really great people," Baum said. "My time with First Transit has been a really great experience and something I will I remember for a lifetime. Now it is my time to move on and take advantage of what I have worked so hard to do, and that is travel the U.S. in my RV with my wife."

First Transit President Brad Thomas said he is proud of the work Baum has done while with the division and wishes him much success in his retirement plans.

"Mike is a valued member of our team and will truly be missed by myself and others," Thomas said. "Throughout his many years of service, he has always shown himself to be an exemplary employee and a key member of the First Transit family. We all wish Mike nothing but the best as he goes forward into his retirement."
