Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Company Sponsors City of Boston's Hubway Bike Sharing Program

MBCR's sponsorship of Hubway connects all transportation in the city.

Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Company (MBCR) has announced a sponsorship of the City of Boston's Hubway bike sharing program. MBCR supports the city's Hubway system because it is a unique element of the "intermodal" transportation system, ensuring that customers enjoy fully integrate travel throughout the region.

"MBCR is proud to sponsor the City of Boston's Hubway program," said MBCR Chairman James O'Leary, "Our sponsorship is part of an effort to make it possible for customers to easily use different forms of transportation together during daily travel."  

Introduced in 2011, under the direction Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and his Boston Bikes program, Hubway features 600 bicycles and 60 stations throughout Boston available for 24-hour, three-day, or annual rentals.

MBCR joins a distinguished list of local Hubway supporters, including New Balance, Harvard University, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Boston, Brigham and Woman's Hospital, Fan Pier Boston, Landmark Center, Northeastern, P&G Gillette, Prudential Center, Putnam Investments, Equity Office, The Red Sox Foundation, Seaport Square Boston, TD Garden and the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority.
