Investec, the specialist bank and asset manager, has taken a 1.25 percent stake in Nomad Digital, a UK based transport communications company.
Investec had previously helped Nomad with project finance as part of its original development project for passenger Wi-Fi on Virgin West Coast trains.
"We're pleased to invest in growth companies with a proven track record and feel a share swap for a small part of Nomad's wider business interests is an innovative way of continuing our relationship and reaping the rewards in a fast-growing business," said Torsten Thiele, Investec Project & Infrastructure Finance.
Other significant stakeholders in the Nomad business already include Amadeus, SEB, and T-Mobile Ventures.
Ian McLaren, CFO of Nomad Digital Limited, said: "With the increased backing of shareholders and more blue-chip finance, there's a lot to look forward to as we continue to develop and implement new technologies across the globe."
Nomad Digital was the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 11th fastest growing technology business in the UK generating sales revenues of £19m in 2011, an increase of 120 percent on 2010.
