Robert J. Vensas Heads URS' Michigan Operations

URS Corp. has named Robert J. Vensas, P.E., vice president and office manager for its Infrastructure & Environment Division’s Michigan operations.

URS Corp. has named Robert J. Vensas, P.E., vice president and office manager for its Infrastructure & Environment Division’s Michigan operations. In his new position, Vensas manages a staff of more than 300 professionals in offices in Grand Rapids, Southfield, Detroit, and Traverse City, providing oversight to architects, engineers, and environmental scientists serving all market sectors. He is based in Grand Rapids.

Vensas has been with URS for more than 39 years, serving as a project engineer, project manager, and manager of engineering. As the vice president of operations in Michigan for the past 20 years, he has participated in several quality initiatives, implemented project management training, and monitored overall project financial performance.

A strong supporter of the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers, Vensas was a state regional vice president and has served on the Western Chapter board for several years. He continues to be involved in the organization’s “Math Counts” initiative and was elected a Fellow Member of the society.

Vensas is a registered Professional Engineer in Michigan. He received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
