He also managed the National Environmental Policy Act process, developed the successful grant application and implemented the stakeholder decision-making process.

Grether had worked at MARTA since 2005. He has experience in working with Federal Transit Administration grant programs and regulations, the Metropolitan Transportation planning process, and project program management. Grether has served on the transit planning board and the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Streetcar subcommittee; he was president of the Southeastern Railway Museum. Grether received his bachelor’s degree in management and master’s degree in city and regional planning (transportation specialization with heavy emphasis on civil engineering) from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

He currently resides in Over-the-Rhine.
