Cincinnati Metro and Sierra Club Encourage Drivers to Dump the Pump

Metro and the Sierra Club are spreading the word about the benefits of riding public transportation in honor of Dump the Pump Day 2012.

Metro and the Sierra Club are spreading the word about the benefits of riding public transportation in honor of Dump the Pump Day 2012.

Events in Cincinnati include:

• A “random act of greenness” on Monday, June 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Anderson Kroger Fuel Center, 7580 Beechmont Ave. Metro and the Sierra Club will provide giveaways and encourage drivers to consider the bus as an alternative to driving every day.

• Metro and the Sierra Club will have booths the 7th annual Paddlefest Kid’s Outdoor Adventure Expo at Coney Island on Thursday, June 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visit them to learn more about Dump the Pump Day, see a hybrid bus and have the chance to win prizes.

About Dump the Pump Day: On June 21, 2012, American Public Transportation Association (APTA), in partnership with The Sierra Club, The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), and public transportation systems across the country will celebrate the 7th Annual National Dump the Pump Day.
