TÜV Rheinland Announces New Chief Regional Officer for North America

TÜV Rheinland has named Gerhard Luebken new chief regional officer, president and CEO of TUV Rheinland North America Holding Inc. and of TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc.

TÜV Rheinland has named Gerhard Luebken new chief regional officer, president and CEO of TUV Rheinland North America Holding Inc. and of TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc. In his new role, Luebken will head the management team in North America and will oversee the company’s operational, financial and administrative functions.

Luebken comes to North America from the Greater China region, where he most recently served as gice president Greater China at TÜV Rheinland and managed the Shanghai operations with 800 employees. Across the Greater China region, he was furthermore responsible for several business lines, including commercial, medical and solar products as well as rail, automotive, systems, training and consulting and industrial services. Before that, Luebken gained technical and managerial experience while holding various management positions with the company in Osaka, Japan, and Taiwan, where he began his career with TÜV Rheinland in 1990 as project engineer and manager.

“I am pleased to join TÜV Rheinland’s experienced regional management team and look forward to working with them to further develop our business footprint in North America,” said Luebken. “As economies in different regions are closely interacting, my experience in Asia will help our team better connect the U.S. operations to that region and therewith offer our clients global solutions.”

As a graduate of Advanced Technical College in Berlin, Germany, Luebken holds an engineering degree, or Dipl-Ingenieur. In 2004, he received the Magnolia Silver Award from the city of Shanghai. The award is the highest recognition for foreign citizens living in Shanghai and honors them for making significant contributions to the city’s economic development, social progress and international relations and cooperation.
