E. Richard Capps Promoted to Senior Vice President of STV

E. Richard Capps Jr., P.E., was promoted to senior vice president of STV. He will continue in his role as regional manager for the Transportation & Infrastructure Division's Southeastern Region

E. Richard Capps Jr., P.E., was promoted to senior vice president of STV. He will continue in his role as regional manager for the Transportation & Infrastructure Division's Southeastern Region.

Capps is responsible for overseeing the operations of the firm's Southeast region.

A civil engineer and project manager with more than 20 years of experience in roadway design and construction, Capps has directed numerous notable highway projects, including the widening of the I-385 urban loop in Greenville, S.C., the largest American Recovery Reinvestment Act-funded project in the state, as well as the Fantasy Harbour Bridge and US 17/SC 707 Interchange in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Capps worked for the North Carolina Department of Transportation as a roadway design engineer. He joined Ralph Whitehead Associates in 1996 working in roadway design. STV acquired Ralph Whitehead Associates in 2006.

He is currently a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies, the American Society of Highway Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers. Previously, Capps was chairman of the Transportation Committee for the American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina.
