Richard Batty Joins LeighFisher

Batty strengthens LeighFisher's rail and other surface transportation capabilities and resources in the following areas: policy development, organizational effectiveness, and transaction advice (including public-private partnerships).

LeighFisher announces the addition of Richard Batty to its management consulting staff. He has 25 years of experience in management consulting and the rail industry in North and South America, Europe and Asia. Batty strengthens LeighFisher's rail and other surface transportation capabilities and resources in the following areas: policy development, organizational effectiveness, and transaction advice (including public-private partnerships). In addition to surface transportation services, Batty will support aviation clients with advice on organizational effectiveness, enabling us to provide our clients cross-market experience and best practices across multiple sectors.

Batty is based in LeighFisher's Reston, Va., office. He works with public and private sector clients in policy and strategy development, organizational effectiveness, financial appraisal and marketing. Previously, Batty led the U.K. rail team at Booz & Company, advising on the U.K.'s Rail Value for Money study. His experience also includes advising on the creation of U.K. infrastructure management company Network Rail and its acquisition of the existing infrastructure management company. Batty then created and led Network Rail's internal consulting team, advising Board members on strategic decisions and organizational improvements. He has also worked in the United States, Argentina and Chile, in particular on privatization and sector restructuring.
