Lopez Joins Omnitrans as Director of Safety & Regulatory Compliance

Lopez will oversee the security, safety and loss prevention operations of the agency.

Omnitrans welcomes Ray Lopez, a professional with more than 21 years of transit experience, to its director of Safety and Regulatory Compliance position. Lopez will oversee the security, safety and loss prevention operations of the agency.

"We're very fortunate to have Ray as part of our leadership team," said CEO/General Manager Milo Victoria. "His dedication and experience in the field of transit will be an asset to the agency."

Prior to joining Omnitrans, Lopez served as safety manager for VIA Transit in San Antonio, Texas. He started his career there as a Coach Operator and focused his education and training towards the emergency management and safety arena.

"I'm looking forward to working with Omnitrans, and to ensuring the safety of our employees and passengers," said Lopez. "My priority is to make sure everyone gets home safely."

A native of El Monte, Lopez remembers riding the southern California RTD bus system as a youngster. Lopez served in the U.S. Army in the 232nd Medical Battalion at Fort Sam Houston. Lopez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from the University of the Incarnate Word and is currently working towards a Masters of Business Administration. He is a Certified Safety Director through the World Safety Organization and has completed his Safety Security certification through the Transportation Safety Institute.
