Hatch Mott MacDonald Adds Key Senior Staff Across Canada

Hatch Mott MacDonald (HMM) is pleased to announce that a number of key, senior-level staff members have joined several of its Canadian offices. These new staff members bring many years of technical experience and industry profile to HMM in ports and harbors, rail, transit, highways and water and wastewater fields. They will be involved in some of the high-profile projects which HMM is presently undertaking across Canada.

Western Canada hires:

Eric Monrad, P. Eng: Monrad joins HMM's Vancouver office as a senior project manager, Ports and Harbors with over 14 years of experience in terminal planning, heavy civil construction field work, offshore structural design, capacity planning and simulation modeling for rail and port operations and wind farm development.

Central Canada hires:

Crystal Cole: Cole has joined HMM as aenior project manager with over 17 years of diverse project and supervisory experience in the rail signalling and ICI construction industries, successfully delivering international and domestic projects in excess of $200 million through directing and managing cross-functional corporate teams and multi-disciplinary consultant contracts.

Jeff Grubert, C. Eng: Grubert joins HMM's Mississauga office as a senior project manager with over 30 years' experience in highway infrastructure design and construction, ranging from intersection and roundabout design to highway design. He is experienced in the management of multi-disciplinary teams for highways and civil engineering infrastructure projects and his experience covers working on both design/build and traditional construction contracts, as part of designer and contractor teams.

Andy Isner, P. Eng: Isner joins HMM's Mississauga office as a principal project manager with over 34 years of experience in rapid transit and industrial experience involving systems design, procurement, installation, commissioning and overall systems integration of control systems for major capital projects. He is a specialist in the development of advanced control systems including initial systems analysis, technical assessment, functional definition, conceptual and detailed software design, and detailed software commissioning and testing.

Hugh Kent, C. Eng: Kent joins HMM's Mississauga office as a principal project manager with over 30 years of experience in highway and traffic engineering. He has key skills in project management of complex and environmentally sensitive projects, and all aspects of highway design and regulatory processes. His primary focus will be the project management of road projects through planning, design and construction phases, and involving various contract forms including public-private partnerships, early contractor involvement, design/build and traditional engineering assignments.

Douglas Lyons: Lyons joins HMM as a senior specialist in Health and Safety with 20 years of experience as a Construction Health and Safety Specialist for industry-leading organizations. He has the ability to manage analyze operations, pinpoint areas for improvement and redesign, and implement plans that mitigate hazards. Douglas' expertise will enhance HMM's ability to manage operational risks and maintain its already excellent safety performance.

Rajan Sawhney, P. Eng, PMP: Sawhney joins HMM's Burlington office with over 20 years of experience managing multi-disciplined design teams on both wastewater and water projects for municipalities throughout southern Ontario. His project management experience includes the entire suite of wastewater project types ranging from Class EAs, Master Plans, and hydraulic analyses to design and contract administration services. His primary focus will be as a senior project manager for water and wastewater projects.

Jack Thompson: Thompson joins HMM's Mississauga office with 40 years of transportation planning experience, which includes 24 years with major Ontario transportation consulting firms and 16 years working for municipal governments in the Province of Ontario. As a senior project manager/transportation planner, Thompson's major focus will be major transportation planning studies, transportation benefit–cost analysis studies, transportation corridor/system planning and travel demand forecasting as HMM's Transportation Planning Practice continues to grow.

Eastern Canada hires:

Kelsey Green, P. Eng: Green joins HMM's Halifax office with over eight years of experience in hydraulic design of water systems and wastewater systems including pumped and gravity water distribution, water booster stations, sewage pumping stations, valved systems control, and pipeline and reservoir design. Kelsey will be expanding the water and wastewater services provided by HMM in Nova Scotia and supporting those services in our other regional offices.

Steven Frizell, P. Eng:  Frizell joins HMM's St. John's office as a senior project manager with 18 years of experience in multi-disciplinary roles, particularly in the design and evaluation of water and wastewater mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems for municipal and industrial clients. His familiarity with many of the water and wastewater systems owner by Newfoundland and Labrador's municipalities will allow HMM to increase our service offering in the province.

Michael Spencer, P. Eng, PMP: Spencer joins HMM's Cornerbrook office in Newfoundland as principal project manager/office manager with over 16 years of project experience. Spencer's project experience is in diverse heavy civil and mechanical industrial projects from the pulp and paper, energy and mining sectors. His focus will be project management and business development with a strong commitment to service and customer satisfaction.
