SMART will unveil three new hybrid electric buses with a friendly, tri-university competition to raise much-needed cold weather gear for southeast Michigan families in need. Called "Busloads of Warmth," this unique charity hybrid event pits the University of Michigan (including UM Dearborn), Wayne State University and Michigan State University against each other in a friendly competition to raise the most donated gear for The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit.

Each participating university is proudly represented by a shiny, new hybrid painted in its school colors. Participants are asked to stuff the bus of their choice with donations of, hats, mittens, scarves, or kids coats.

SMART and The Salvation Army will have representatives onsite for media interviews. Time is to be determined.
