John Peck Appointed Region Vice President, First Transit’s Farwest Region

Peck's appointment is effective Aug. 1. In this new position, he will oversee the operations of First Transit locations throughout the western part of Canada. He will be responsible for directing the Transit Contracting division in his region.

Recently, John Peck was appointed regional vice president (RVP) of the Farwest Region, for First Transit. He will be taking over for current RVP Alvin Zaharko, who will be retiring. Peck's appointment is effective Aug. 1. In this new position, he will oversee the operations of First Transit locations throughout the western part of Canada. He will be responsible for directing the Transit Contracting division in his region.

"John has proven himself as a strong leader and we are pleased to have him in this position," said Rick Dunning, senior vice president of First Transit. "With 20 years of experience in the industry and a proven track record for success, John has the skills and expertise necessary to lead his division."

In his new position, Peck hopes to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor and looks forward to a smooth transition.

"While following in the shadow of a well respected leader, my goal is to maintain our division's high level of customer satisfaction and appropriately adjusting to the changing and competitive market in our region," Peck said.

Peck began his career in 1991 with First Transit, and currently holds the title of contract manager in Vernon, B.C. He is a member of Vernon, B.C.'s Transportation Demand Management Committee.
