On July 1, First Transit will begin management of Wave Transit, the transit system for Wilmington, N.C. The contract will provide the company with a three-year agreement, managing the 82 employees and 81 buses that transport more than 1.46 million passengers annually throughout the city. First Transit will manage Wave's fixed-route service to citizens within the city and surrounding neighborhoods.
