Schneider Electric Announces Secure Power Systems Business for Industrial and Infrastructure Customers

Schneider Secure Power Systems for Industry and Infrastructures offers industry-tailored and customized solutions to increase power availability, efficiency, and systems up-time of mission critical applications.

Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, today announced the creation of the Schneider Secure Power Systems for Industry and Infrastructure Business, a new global line of business designed to continue Schneider Electric's initiatives providing fast and efficient total system support and global services for large facilities with solutions that increase power availability and systems uptime of mission critical applications. Schneider Secure Power Systems will offer a comprehensive roster of hardware and services applicable to a wide range of industries, as well as direct development of new technology and services to meet evolving customer demands. The Secure Power Systems for Industry and Infrastructure will offer a dedicated line of business to Schneider Electric customers across multiple mission critical applications to further assist them in meeting all of their energy management and efficiency goals.

Schneider Electric has a long history as the market leader providing secure power services to the IT sector and is expanding its products and services for industries and facilities beyond data centers. In particular, organizations in healthcare, semiconductor fabrication, transportation, water, oil and gas and energy all rely heavily on uninterrupted power for mission-critical processes such as security systems and automated manufacturing. The global secure power market in these industries stands at $2.5 billion and continues to show healthy growth.

Schneider Secure Power Systems will apply technologies from Schneider Electric's APC and GUTOR brands to provide secure power components for a range of industrial applications. These applications include; continuous manufacturing process and control; monitoring and control automation; navigation systems, such as radar; instrumentation and metering; and security systems. In addition, the group will expand its power services to operate and maintain installed solutions.

This specialized business will be led by Enric Costa, vice president Secure Power Systems for Industry & Infrastructure, with direct accountability to Laurent Vernerey, president and CEO, IT Business, Schneider Electric, and a dedicated supervisory board.
