BAE Systems Names John Maddox as Western Regional Sales Manager for HybriDrive Systems

In his new position, Maddox will be responsible for HybriDrive series system sales in the western portion of the United States and Canada.

BAE Systems has named John Maddox western regional sales manager for its HybriDrive hybrid electric propulsion system.

In this position, Maddox is responsible for HybriDrive series system sales in the western portion of the United States and Canada — 11 states and two provinces. The HybriDrive series propulsion system powers the world’s largest hybrid bus fleet and carries more than two million passengers every day. Buses equipped with HybriDrive series have travelled over 300 million miles, prevented over 280,000 tons of CO2 emissions and have saved over 25 million gallons of diesel fuel. More than 3,300 systems are in service across North America and the United Kingdom.

Maddox joined BAE Systems in 2007. He started his career in engineering, working on aircraft projects including the C-5A, L-1011, B-52 and AC-130E for such companies as Lockheed Martin, Grumman Aerospace and Ward Aero. More recently, he has held managerial positions in the transit industry including roles as president and CEO of Wide-One Corp.; general manager of NGV Ecotrans; chief engineer at Flyer Industries (now known as New Flyer Industries); and vice president, sales and engineering at Ontario Bus Industries.

He attended Middle Georgia College graduating with an Associate of Science degree in Industrial Management and the Georgia Institute of Technology graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management. He is based in Oceanside, Calif.
