Lextran and Keeneland Partner for Spring Meet

Sept. 11, 2014

Once again, Lextran will offer transportation to Keeneland for the Spring Meet for just $1 each way. This year, a special partnership with Keeneland will offset the cost of a trip to and from the track for those attending the race.

Beginning at 11 a.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Lextran riders traveling to Keeneland will receive two $1 food vouchers, compliments of Keeneland, valid at any Keeneland concession stand. Parking is free on weekends at the Transit Center parking garage, located at 200 East Vine Street.

On Fridays and Saturdays, Lextran will offer hourly service from the Transit Center to Keeneland from 6:05 a.m. until 6:05 p.m. Thirty-minute service is available from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., with stops at the Hyatt Regency and Versailles Road at Alexandria Drive. The last trolley will leave Keeneland at 7 p.m. On Sundays, the COLT Trolley will run every hour from 6:05 a.m. until 6:05 p.m. and every half-hour between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Weekday service is also available, with hourly departures from the Transit Center 6:05 a.m. until 6:05 p.m.

“We are excited to build upon our partnership with Keeneland, which we’ve enjoyed for years,” Lextran General Manager Rocky Burke said. “This spring we can offer an additional incentive to ride, compliments of Keeneland, and we’re hopeful more people will take advantage of our ride to the races.”

Keeneland and Lextran have had a longstanding partnership to provide Lexington residents with transportation to the historic race track on Versailles Road.

“Keeneland continues to search for ways to improve the Keeneland experience, making a visit to the historic race track smooth and convenient for all our patrons,” Keeneland President Nick Nicholson said. “We are thrilled once again to partner with Lextran to offer an affordable, easy way to head to the races.”
