India: Railways in Talks with Japan Over High-Speed Trains

Railways Minister Dinesh Trivedi held discussions with a visiting Japanese delegation led by Takeshi Maeda, minister for transport and tourism, Japan, on bilateral issues in the field of rail transportation and various aspects of high speed train corridors.

NEW DELHI, Jan. 16 -- Railways Minister Dinesh Trivedi held discussions with a visiting Japanese delegation led by Takeshi Maeda, minister for transport and tourism, Japan, on bilateral issues in the field of rail transportation and various aspects of high speed train corridors. In the Railway Budget 2010-11, the government had announced for setting up of a National High Speed Rail Authority for planning high speed rail projects.
