Metra trains were delayed during Monday's morning rush when a passenger shot pepper spray in the eyes of a conductor who asked her for a ticket, police said.

Latoya M. Moore, 27, of West Chicago, is charged with felony aggravated battery to a transit employee and misdemeanor theft of services, Wheaton police Deputy Chief Tom Meloni said. It happened after Moore boarded a UP West Line train in West Chicago after 8 a.m. Monday. The conductor asked for her ticket, and she refused to show one. Another conductor intervened, and Moore sprayed him with the pepper spray, police said. She was arrested by Wheaton police. The conductor rinsed his face and eyes at a train station and was OK.
