Today, Congresswoman Betty Sutton (OH-13) announced that the United States Department of Transportation has awarded the METRO Regional Transit Authority a $2 million competitive grant to replace out-of-date buses with compressed natural gas vehicles.

"This funding will take old, unreliable, and environmentally harmful buses off of our roads and replace them with new buses that will help reduce air pollution in our communities," said Sutton. "I am proud to announce the arrival of this funding, and look forward to enjoying these new buses with my constituents."

The grant is part of the Department of Transportation's "State of Good Repair Program" which aims at updating and modernizing America's transit systems. More information on this program can be found by clicking here.
