FORT WORTH, Texas, June 27 -- The city of Fort Worth issued the following press release:

The T has joined other regional transit agencies and the North Texas Clean Air Coalition (NTCAC) to launch a summer-long ozone-awareness campaign and contest.

Since the average single-occupant vehicle in North Texas puts about 28 pounds of pollution in the air each day, the local transit agencies and NTCAC decided to join forces to launch the clean air awareness contest. "Do Your Share for Cleaner Air Photo Contest" extends through the summer, the peak of ozone season in our region. The first phase of the contest with prizes ends at midnight July 5.

Contest details are available on on NTCAC Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/CleanAirCoalition). Winners will receive prizes including transit passes, museum and movie tickets and gift certificates. The grand prize winner will receive airline tickets courtesy of American Airlines.

Phase I encourages residents to use public transportation to get to a cultural venue. For this phase, contest entrants should take a picture of anything cultural such as a museum, concert venue, etc., and include something in the photo that is related to public transit, such as a bus, train, bus stop sign or bus shelter.
