CA: Muni Racing to Restore Two Lines

Muni's N-Judah and J-Church lines were expected to be back in service this morning after being shut down east of Duboce Park for most of the day Thursday.

Muni's N-Judah and J-Church lines were expected to be back in service this morning after being shut down east of Duboce Park for most of the day Thursday.

Late Thursday morning, an N-Judah train brought down overhead power wires near the subway entrance at Church Street and Duboce Avenue, cutting the power to the downtown subway.

Muni crews planned to work through the night Thursday to restore service to the two lines, said Paul Rose, spokesman for the Municipal Transportation Agency.

After the N-Judah train damaged the wires, the subway was closed to all traffic until early evening. Shuttle buses replaced the missing trains.
