Commuter Advertising Inc. was named the winner of the 2011 Soin Award for Innovation on Tuesday at the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting.
Founded in 2008, the Dayton-based company was the first provider of short-form, location-based audio advertising on transit buses and trains. It now has nine contracts in seven cities, reaching 82 million transit riders annually.
Commuter Advertising received a $25,000 cash award from the DACC, plus media support from the Berry Company and Cox Media Group Ohio.
