Mario Péloquin begins work as VIA Rail Canada president and CEO

Mario Péloquin began his role as VIA Rail Canada's (VIA Rail) new president and CEO on June 27. Péloquin brings over three decades of experience in the rail industry, a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities it presents and a demonstrated commitment to ensuring transportation services meet the needs of communities across Canada.

“I am honored to join VIA Rail, an organization that plays such a vital role in Canada's transportation landscape. I'm excited to work with the talented VIA Rail team to go further in fulfilling our mission of putting passengers first and in better connecting Canadian communities, particularly those in regional and remote areas, in a smarter, more efficient way," Péloquin said.
