Larry Pinkelton joins SORTA executive leadership team as new CFO

Pinkelton will be responsible for overseeing the transit agency’s $146.6 million operating budget, capital program, financial reporting, treasury management activities and investments.

Larry Pinkelton has joined the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) as the new chief financial officer (CFO).

In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing the transit agency’s $146.6 million operating budget, capital program, financial reporting, treasury management activities and investments.

Pinkelton brings more than 30 years of experience to the role, most recently serving as CFO of Easterseals of Greater Cincinnati, a nonprofit agency providing disability, development and workforce services for people with disabilities, veterans and people with economic disadvantages.

Prior to his time at Easterseals, he held senior financial leadership positions in the corporate and financial services sectors as well as higher education. Most notably, Pinkelton served as vice president of finance and administration for Chicago State University, where he worked to reshape the funding models used to drive academic performance while also growing revenue. He also held the position of acting CFO of Northern Illinois University.

A Cincinnati native, Pinkelton earned his B.B.A. in finance from the University of Cincinnati and his MBA in applied business economics from Xavier University. He lives in Fairfield Township with his wife and son.

Pinkelton will begin his new role at SORTA on May 2.
