Under the new union contract, Go Metro operators enjoy competitive pay and benefits.

The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (Go Metro) and the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 627 have struck a new agreement, guaranteeing bus operators better pay, benefits and stability than anytime in Go Metro’s history.

As part of ongoing efforts to address a continued driver shortage and to help keep up with expanding service, Go Metro is aggressively recruiting new bus operators to join the team. Under the new union contract, Go Metro operators enjoy competitive pay and benefits, including:

  • Paid training at $19 per hour, which includes CDL training and reimbursement for CDL licensing fees.
  • Once trained, a starting wage of $21 per hour.
  • Opportunities to earn premium pay rates on high-demand routes.
  • $2,000 signing bonus upon completion of training and 95-day probationary period.
  • Pay increases every six months.

Go Metro also provides comprehensive health and dental benefits, retirement benefits and discounted transportation passes for a spouse and dependents.
