Link Transit selects Cristina Barone as new planning and development manager

Cristina Barone has joined Link Transit as the new planning and development manager.

In this role, she will manage short- and long-range transit planning, service design and oversee marketing, outreach and transit analysis. She will work with a team of four.

Barone will be joining Link Transit in mid-September.

A native of Florida, Barone received her bachelor’s in English from the University of Florida in 2007, and her master’s in Urban and Regional Planning in 2009, also from the University of Florida. Between 2009 and 2013, she held various transit planning roles in Gainesville and Tampa.

Since 2013, she has served as project manager for Nelson/Nygaard, a transit planning consultant based in Seattle, Wash. Her experience at Nelson/Nygaard included developing transit plans and service analysis for Mason Transit Authority, Kitsap Transit, Intercity Transit, Whatcom Transit, Everett Transit and Link Transit.

She currently lives in Wenatchee, Wash., and is active in outdoor pursuits such as skiing, hiking, biking and paddling.
