David Leininger joins the company in an advisory and consultancy role.

Unwire announced that David Leininger, former CFO of Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) and Principal Advisor at Leininger Analytics, will be joining the Danish mobile technology company in an advisory and consultancy role based in North America.

Unwire and DART have a relationship developing the GoPass app solution, which enables users to pay for their rides, book their rides and plan trips through a multi-modal journey planner. Leininger will strengthen the position in North America as a provider of mobility solutions.

“David Leininger has worked with Unwire for over a decade, including work on the introduction of the award winning GoPass mobile ticketing app and further innovations such as an integrated MaaS technology pilot and integration of Uber and Lyft into the app,” said Jesper Thor Rasmussen, Unwire CEO.“He has extensive experience of working with both the private sector and municipal organizations, putting him in the right place to work with Unwire to drive forward partnerships and public transit developments.”

Leininger added, “Over my decade-long involvement with Unwire I have seen the pioneering work they and DART have done in developing and deploying a customer facing, fully featured, multi-modal, multi-agency mobility platform. I believe that Unwire brings a combination of mobile technology prowess, agency operational fare payment experience and a passion for improving urban mobility solutions. I hope my involvement with Unwire provides both Unwire and DART with the opportunity to more broadly inform the public transportation industry about the multi-modal journey planning and payment integration capabilities that are available even now. Unwire is delivering what other teams are only describing.”
