Annually TransIT Services of Frederick County recognizes two drivers, one Fixed Route driver and one Paratransit driver, for Driver of the Year. The 2018 drivers of the year are Randy Brown and Dave Christensen. Drivers are selected based on their safe driving records, exceptional attendance, excellent customer service skills, and they must be a full time employee at TransIT.
Brown, the 2018 Fixed Route driver of the year, was recognized for his willingness to help coworkers and relieve operations, his professional attitude, and great customer service with TransIT passengers. Colleagues of Brown stated he is “always pleasant and professional to customers and employees. He is conscientious and always tries his best to make sure customers meet their connecting buses.”
Christensen, the 2018 Paratransit driver of the year, was recognized by co-workers for his leadership, dedication, and flexibility. He was also recognized for great customer service, both as a driver and as a dispatcher. Colleagues of Dave commonly stated that he “steps up to work anywhere he’s needed, is always willing to help out, and is always a team player.”
In recognition for being selected as "Driver of The Year," Randy Brown and Dave Christensen each received a commemorative plaque and celebration with peers. Both drivers will be recognized in a bus advertisement and have been nominated for the Transportation Association of Maryland’s annual driver of the year award in September. Mr. Brown and Mr. Christensen are part of the outstanding team of dedicated professional drivers that provide quality service when transporting Frederick County residents and visitors.
