San Mateo County Transportation Authority Welcomes New Director, Elects Officers for 2018

The San Mateo County Transportation Authority Board of Directors welcomed new member Rico E. Medina and elected its officers for 2018 at the January meeting.

The San Mateo County Transportation Authority Board of Directors welcomed new member Rico E. Medina and elected its officers for 2018 at the January meeting.

Medina, who also serves as the mayor of San Bruno, will represent the northern judicial cities on the TA Board.

Along with swearing in of Medina, the TA elected its officers for this year. County Supervisor Don Horsley was elected chair and Cameron Johnson, city of San Carlos, who represents southern judicial cities, was elected vice-chair.

In addition, Horsley and Emily Beach, the cities-at-large representative, were sworn in as they began their new terms on the Board.

The TA Board is the governing body of the TA, which administers funding for transportation and infrastructure projects throughout the county. The seven-member board is composed of one member from the northern, central and southern judicial cities, two members of the Board of Supervisors, one member from the SamTrans Board, and one member from cities-at-large.
