Reinforcing its sales and growth strategy, CH2M recently brought Mark Hitchcock on board its Transit & Rail team as a principal technologist. In his role, Hitchcock will lead rail and transit projects in the southeast United States and support transit projects across North America.

Said CH2M Track & Civil Global Practice Leader Mike Loehr, “Mark’s international experience will strengthen our North American rail and transit team, and his detailed knowledge of the Southeastern Region of the U.S. will strengthen our ability to provide high quality transit and rail services there and beyond.”

Before joining CH2M, Hitchcock spent seven years at Mott MacDonald in various transit roles, including most recently the deputy practice leader of Rail Transit-East, where he led transit and rail projects and pursuits for transit agencies in southeastern United States, such as the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority and the Atlanta BeltLine.

“The Atlanta region is making significant investments in mobility and transit — and I look forward to being a part of the regional transit renaissance with my colleagues at CH2M,” said Hitchcock.

His more than 30-year portfolio includes projects in interstate highways and interchanges; toll facilities; suburban arterials; airport access roadways; and a range of multimodal transit facilities involving buses, street cars, light rail, heavy rail, commuter rail and automated people mover technologies.

Hitchcock earned his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering at the University of Florida and is a licensed professional engineer in Georgia, Florida, Texas and Arizona. He also holds a DBIA (Design-Build Association of America) professional designation and PMP (Project Management Professional) designation.

He joins CH2M’s team of 600 transit and rail professionals around the world focused on delivering light rail, urban transit, commuter rail, high-speed rail, bus rapid transit, freight rail and intermodal facilities solutions.
