Greater Lafayette CityBus Announces Changes in 2017

2017 has brought numerous changes, from the retirement of a beloved street supervisor to the various construction projects throughout the city.

2017 has brought numerous changes, from the retirement of a beloved street supervisor to the various construction projects throughout the city. Not forgotten in these changes is the hiring of four new Greater Lafayette Public Transportation Corp. (CityBus) employees and the promotion of two others.

Bryce Gibson received a promotion and is now manager of development. Gibson handles marketing and communications, ridership development, customer service, route planning, design, and contract services. Gibson started his career at CityBus as an intern after graduating from Indiana University four years ago. Before he became the manager of development, he was promoted to the Transit Analyst position in 2014.

Amy Burnett received a promotion and is now controller/manager of administration. Burnett operates as chief financial officer and is responsible for overall financial administration for CityBus including budgeting, cash-flow management, purchasing, payroll, and inventory control.  Burnett starter her career with CityBus as the FullCharge Bookkeeper in September 2007.  In 2012, she was promoted to assistant controller and served as the interim controller in 2014 and 2017. While in service at CityBus, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2009 and her Master of Leadership Development: Financial Leadership in 2014.  

Erica Metzinger has been hired as the marketing specialist of CityBus. Metzinger takes the lead in graphic design, and assists with marketing and communications projects throughout the company.

Britta Phillips was hired as administrative assistant. Phillips is responsible for organizing the office to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity, while performing secretarial and general office work to relieve the administration of clerical duties.

Randy Anderson is the new operations system administrator. Anderson is responsible for overseeing the network infrastructure and applications used by CityBus operations such as computers, communication networks, and mobile devices in buses.  

Neil Smith is the new assistant controller. Smith assists the controller in the overall financial administration for CityBus including bank reconciliations and preparing/filing payroll taxes and returns.  He also performs essential duties for the FullCharge Bookkeeper and Controller in their absence.  Neil will begin his career with CityBus on August 7.
