Ben Franklin Transit Announces New General Manager

Ben Franklin Transit (BFT) announced that the agency has hired Gloria Boyce as its new general manager.

Ben Franklin Transit (BFT) announced that the agency has hired Gloria Boyce as its new general manager. 

Boyce was chosen through a multi-month process of candidate recruitment; qualifications review; and board, staff, and community stakeholder interviews with the assistance of Executive Search firm, The Prothman Company.  Salary and contract terms will be negotiated over the next several weeks.

Board Chair, Matt Watkins said, " Gloria has demonstrated the best skill set, style, and temperament to lead Ben Franklin Transit as our General Manager into the future."

Gloria Boyce has been with Ben Franklin Transit since 2012. Until serving as the interim general manager Boyce was the administrative services manager for three years.

Prior to coming to BFT, Boyce served as director of capital programs coordination and reporting at Metro in Houston, TX, where she directed the preparation and monitoring of project and program budgets, grant eligibility and FTA reporting for the 3-Line Light Rail Expansion, HOT Lanes and other major capital projects. 

Before relocating to Houston, Boyce served 6 years with Sacramento Regional Transit District in progressively responsible positions as finance administrator, director of finance/treasury and CFO, providing direction and oversight of the District’s financial functions. Before joining RT, she worked in the private sector delivering project and contract administration for public agency client’s urban design, community master planning and transit oriented development projects.  Her background also includes lease financing/bond issuance, risk management, and performance measurement.

Boyce holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, with dual majors in Business Administration: Finance, and Economics and an International Business Certificate from Portland State University located in Portland Oregon.
