Car Free Day is an event celebrated internationally to encourage greener methods of travel while reducing the number of single occupant vehicles on our roadways. By reducing the number of cars on the road, there is less traffic congestion and an environmental benefit.

In honor of the event, residents are encouraged to take the bus, the train, telework, carpool or vanpool, or walk or bike to get around on Friday, September 22nd. To participate in the event and for a chance to win great prizes, including a buy one get one coupon to Chipotle, please take the Car Free Day pledge at www.CarFreeMetroDC.org.

In honor of the event, TransIT Services of Frederick will be offering free rides on all TransIT Connectors and Shuttles for the day.
