CCRTA has announced it will begin “Free Fare Fridays” for seniors 60 and over on fixed route buses every Friday from November 25th through December 30th.

Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) has announced it will begin “Free Fare Fridays” for seniors 60 and over on fixed route buses every Friday from November 25th through December 30th.

“The Barnstable Senior Services Division applauds the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority for launching the “Free Fare Fridays” initiative during the busy holiday season. We encourage our older residents to take advantage of free fixed route transportation and do their holiday shopping without the hassle of having to find a parking space at the mall or on Main Street,” said Barnstable Council on Aging Director, Madeline Noonan.

Tom Cahir, administrator of the Cape Cod RTA added, “We hope seniors will take advantage of this great opportunity and learn how we can serve their transportation needs all year long.”

This is the first time the RTA has offered free rides to seniors in the Cape Cod community. This holiday season, seniors can utilize our fixed route bus system to make their holiday outings a little easier.
