June 24, 2016
The Cape Cod Commission (CCC) and the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) and its transportation partners in the region will be promoting smart transportation options on Cape Cod during the week of June 26 – July 2.

The Cape Cod Commission (CCC) and the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) and its transportation partners in the region will be promoting smart transportation options on Cape Cod during the week of June 26 – July 2. Throughout the week, a series of activities will promote the use of alternative transportation modes which reduce traffic impacts caused by single-occupant vehicles throughout the Cape. From CCC's world-class bike trails to the Steamship Authority and Hy-Line ferry services, Cape Cod has transportation choices to get you where you need to go - reducing congestion and helping us all breathe a little easier.

Cape Cod Smart Transportation Week is an annual event designated as the last week in June by the Barnstable County Commissioners. Transportation week supports ongoing work by the CCC and the CCRTA to plan for and assist in implementing improvements to the region’s transportation infrastructure and services. Creative commuters can log in their “smart” trips (e.g., carpooling, transit, bike, walking, etc.) into NuRide, a service of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation in order to support commuting options. One randomly-selected Barnstable County resident will win a $50 gift card from Smithfield Markets (Barnstable & Peterson’s markets).

Cape Cod Smart Transportation Week 2016 will feature several events and activities, including:
