Brian Wynne, president of the Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA), issued the following statement in response to U.S. President Barack Obama winning re-election last night.
“EDTA looks forward to continuing its work with President Obama and the newly elected Congress to advance technology innovation that will diversify our transportation fuels.
“Since the U.S. imports approximately 45 percent of the oil used in the transportation sector, at a cost of more than $1 billion a day, advancing alternatives to petroleum is a strategic and economic imperative.
“Policies that advance energy security through electrification of the commercial and consumer vehicle fleets should be bipartisan priorities for the Administration and 113th Congress.”
