American Seating’s Transportation Group is pleased to announce that Sonny Gordon has been promoted to the position of national sales director for the central and western United States and Karen Dhanie has joined American Seating as national sales director for the southern and eastern United States.

Their sales regions, in addition to the United States, include western and eastern Canada. In their new roles, Gordon and Dhanie will oversee the sales efforts in their respective regions, focusing on key accounts and sales strategies in the City Service/Transit, Rail, Motorcoach and Demand-Response markets, all served by American Seating.

For the past two-and-a-half years, Gordon served in the dual role of regional sales manager of the Midwest region as well as the business development manager for the western United States and parts of Canada. He’s been part of American Seating’s Transportation Group since 2009.

“Sonny is a consummate professional with a team-oriented, people-first focus,” American Seating vice president of sales and marketing Dave McLaughlin said. “In his expanded role as national sales director covering the central and western half of North America, Sonny will lead our team with the excellence in service that our customers expect.”

Dhanie joins American Seating’s Transportation Group from New Flyer Industries where she held the position of regional sales manager for aftermarket for four years. Previously, she held senior sales and marketing positions with several major organizations, including Citigroup and The Home Depot.

“Karen’s motivation to lead and relationship management experience in the industry will be key in enhancing American Seating’s customer-centric sales efforts,” American Seating president Tom Bush said. “We’re delighted that she has accepted this key role managing transportation-product sales for American Seating in the southern and eastern half of North America.”
