South Shore Line and Valparaiso partner on new shuttle service

Aug. 5, 2019
The shuttle connects riders between the ChicaGo Dash parking lot and the Dune Park station in about half an hour.

A new weekday shuttle began Aug. 1 connecting the ChicaGo Dash parking lot in Valparaiso, Ind., to the South Shore Line’s Dune Park station. The shuttle will run free through Oct. 31 with fare rates beginning Nov. 1.

The city of Valparaiso is operating the wifi enabled shuttle, which transports passengers between the stations in 30 minutes. Parking is free at the ChicaGo Dash parking lot or riders can take the V-Line to the parking lot to catch the shuttle.

The shuttle service links up at the Dune Park Station with three Chicago bound trains and three Chesterton bound trains mid-day, as well as three additional Chesterton bound trains in the evening. Look for the shuttle pick-up signs at the ChicaGo Dash parking lot and the South Shore Line Dune Park station. For stops and schedule information, visit ValpoTransit.com.
