The Central Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, which does business as rabbittransit, accepted a generous donation from local veterans on Monday, October 2, 2017. The donation was made from the James A. Danner, VFW Post 537 in Etters, Pennsylvania.

The $1,000 donation was made to rabbittransit to support veterans medical transportation in York County. “This is another example of the local VFW supporting area veterans,” said Charles Yost, post chaplain.

Since the launch of its YORKVET transportation shuttle in partnership with the York County Depart of Veterans Affairs, rabbittransit has begun to receive donations within the community. The donations will support local veterans to secure transportation to local Community Based Outreach Clinics in York and Camp Hill, as well as, transportation to the VA hospital in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

“We are extremely pleased with VFW Post 537’s donation.  Over 300 trips are performed each month on the YORKVET shuttle.  Without such support, rabbittransit would not be able to provide the transportation assistance needed,” stated Richard Farr, rabbittransit executive director.
