One of the many benefits of operating the nation’s largest network of natural gas fueling stations, is the wealth of experience our employees have gained in designing and building them. And that experience was recently recognized by the awarding of another station build contract.

Portage Area Regional Transportation Authority, which services communities in Portage County, Ohio, has awarded Clean Energy a $2.8 Million design and build contract for a station supporting the transit agency that will also be open to the general public. The agency will be purchasing eight new compressed natural gas (CNG) buses with assistance from the Ohio Diesel Emissions Reduction Grant and the Ohio Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Program, which are statewide programs to replace or refurbish aging diesel engines.

“We’re excited about the addition of these buses and breaking ground on a new station,” said Claudia Amrhein, PARTA’s general manager. “We are excited to partner with Clean Energy and bring clean CNG buses to our riders.”
