The Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) announced it named Liz Pierce director of human resources and compliance, effective Jan. 11.
As CATA’s director of human resources and compliance, Pierce is responsible for overseeing the authority’s human resources program, implementing and updating personel policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws. Prior to joining CATA, she had served as the human resource director for Hotel State College & Company and has served as an adjunct instructor for the School of Hospitality Management program at Penn State.
“I know that I can speak for the CATA Board of Directors as well as the management staff when I say that we are truly excited to have Ms. Pierce in this role at the authority,” states Louwana Oliva, CATA general manager. “Liz brings to the position a unique combination of experience, employee relations expertise, and leadership ability that will further strengthen the organization and benefit our employees.”
