Phoenix Bus Drives to Vote on Agreement

Jan. 6, 2016

The Phoenix Public Transit Department has been informed by Transdev that leaders of the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1433 will present the company’s best and final offer to ATU members for a vote Jan. 6 and Jan. 7.

All bus operations will be normal and operate as scheduled during the ATU’s voting period.

In the event the offer is rejected by the union membership and a strike occurs, passengers may need to make alternate transportation plans as early as Jan. 8, including :

  • Consider purchasing All-Day passes, instead of multi-day passes. No fare refunds or reimbursements are available for a loss of service due to a strike.
  • Work with your employer or school to identify other bus riders that you can carpool with or meet at a park-and-ride.
  • Go to valleymetro.org to find an alternate bus route, register for a carpool partner or seek a seat on a vanpool.
  • Ask to telecommute if your job/supervisor permits.
