SouthWest Breaks Ridership Record for State Fair Service

Sept. 23, 2015

SouthWest Transit reached another State Fair milestone this year with record ridership of 89,937, which is up 6.4% from 2014’s record ridership of 84,528. The record was accomplished while still managing the regular route service.

The Fair service schedule remained the same as other years – on weekdays riders were transported from Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie, and on weekends and Labor Day, riders departed from the SWT park and ride facilities on Highway 212, which included Carver Station this year.

“We want to thank all the people who came out to safely ride with us to the Fair this year,” said SouthWest Transit CEO, Len Simich, “and without such a strong team running behind the scenes, we couldn’t have pulled off such a success. We are so proud of our record breaking year.”
