The trending topic in transportation in the Delaware Valley seems to be train infrastructure. For Chester County, the Paoli Train Station is advancing and will begin construction of the new Intermodal Transportation Center next year and the other four major train stations in Chester County: Exton, Downingtown, Parkesburg, and Coatesville will not be far behind.
In the past, TMACC, or the Transportation Management Association of Chester County, the non-profit organization advocating for the advancement and improvement of these train stations has hosted a variety of informative events surrounding the train station improvements. From the Fall Luncheon featuring PennDOT’s Jennie Granger, who went through the entire design processes for all five train stations, and then their May Breakfast with Commissioner Michelle Kichline, SEPTA CFO, Rich Burnfield, and two of PennDOT’s Engineers giving an update on ACT 89’s progress. This year, TMACC has provided the public with quality, exclusive information.
TMACC has placed another great speaker in the pipeline with their Annual Meeting. This is a significant event with exclusive information about national policy and investment, and potential impact on the Keystone Corridor. Their guest speaker is the Acting Administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration, Sarah Feinberg. Since her appointment in January of 2015, Feinberg has had to deal with significant challenges, including the Philadelphia Amtrak derailment last month. At TMACC’s Annual Meeting, Feinberg will discuss many of the Federal Policies and programs that will help to enhance opportunities at the five Chester County stations, as well as service along the Keystone Corridor.
