CCTA Offers Summer Fun Youth Pass Program

May 15, 2015

Parents and caregivers will soon find that getting their children back and forth during summer break is going to get a lot easier. This summer, CCTA and GMTA will be offering a new Summer Fun Youth Pass Program to give families access to safe, reliable and affordable transportation during the summer months.

This new Summer Fun Youth Pass Program gives children ages 7-17 unlimited access to local service routes from June 15 through August 25 for $25 (GMTA $15). With unlimited local service, CCTA and GMTA provide families and caregivers an affordable option for transportation when scheduling summer and sports programs around workday schedules. It also gives children access to numerous parks, beaches, museums, libraries, and to friends and family, seven days a week.

“We hear it all the time. Parents are always trying to find ways to get their children to and from summer programs that don’t interfere with work schedules.” said Adrienne Cochrane CCTA marketing manager and mother of two boys ages 11 and 13. “The Summer Fun Youth program provides an alternative resource for transportation that gives parents and caregivers flexibility during the day eliminating conflicts with work schedules.”

Parents and caregivers will gain freedom by letting CCTA and GMTA transport their children from place to place and children gain the independence they crave to get around town all summer long. “Public transportation isn’t always on the top of everyone’s mind when it comes to getting children around during the summer, but” CCTA’s General Manager, Karen Walton, notes “this program is a great opportunity to reinforce bus service as an asset to the community and to train the next generation of riders.”

When you purchase a Youth Summer Fun Pass, you will receive a waterproof/summer proof, silicone bracelet. Simply wear this bracelet and show the driver when boarding! No cash, no keeping track of a paper pass and it’s always accessible.
