MV Transportation selected to provide paratransit services for Ann Arbor area

The partnership with TheRide will focus on driving operational efficiency and improving community-wide mobility.

MV Transportation, Inc., has been awarded a contract to provide paratransit services by the Ann Arbor Transportation Authority (TheRide), effective Aug. 1, 2021. 

Under terms of the five-year contract, MV will provide safe and reliable origin-to-destination, curb-to-curb and door-to-door ADA paratransit transportation for the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti communities. The company will be responsible for safety, operations, maintenance and dispatch within the A-Ride paratransit service system for people with disabilities and the elderly.   

“TheRide is committed to ensuring mobility and independence through high-quality transportation options for our paratransit customers,” said Bryan Smith, deputy CEO of operations, Ann Arbor Area Transit Authority. “MV is a proven leader in on-demand transportation and will bring additional best practices that ultimately provide an even better passenger experience.” 

As part of MV’s start-up efforts, the company is introducing established programs and partnerships for recruiting, training, safety, maintenance and customer service and has begun engaging regularly with the local paratransit advisory committee.
